Introduction of amendments to the Federal Law “On Migration Registration of Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons in the Russian Federation”

Please note that on December 25, 2017 draft law No. 350179-7 “On Introducing Amendments to Articles 2, 20 and 21 of the Federal Law ‘On Migration Registration of Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons in the Russian Federation’” was brought by the Government of the Russian Federation before the State Duma.
On June 20, 2018, the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation approved the introduction of amendments to the Federal Law “On Migration Registration of Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons in the Russian Federation”. 
In accordance with the introduced amendments, in the vast majority of cases, registration at the place of stay will be possible only at the address of actual residence of a foreign citizen, i.e. in the residential premises provided by the citizens of the Russian Federation.
